City of Woodcreek
About the City of Woodcreek
The incorporated City of Woodcreek is built around the Wimberley golf course known as the Double J Ranch Golf Club, which runs through the development of around 1700 persons. Woodcreek homes line the fairways, deer wander the neighborhoods and beautiful tall Live Oaks grace the yards.
I have lived here since 1995 and enjoy taking my daily walks early in the morning and saying hello to my neighbors. It is a wonderful place to live with pleasant views and surroundings.
This area is ideally located for commuting to Austin and is just a couple of miles from the heart of Wimberley. Be sure to visit the once separate but now part of Woodcreek known as Brookmeadow which is located just north of Woodcreek.
History of the City of Woodcreek
Some fifty years ago a plan was conceived to develop a resort in Wimberley where a building lot could be bought, a home built, and all could enjoy the land as a whole for hiking, hunting, horseback riding, and fishing. A section (640 acres) was bought and named Eagle Rock Ranch Resort. A lodge complete with a restaurant, dance hall, movie theatre, and a swimming pool was built, and thus began the sale of lots that would make up what is now known as Woodcreek. Over the years this simple idea has evolved into three separate entities now known as the City of Woodcreek, Woodcreek North and Wimberley Springs Community.
