South River offers luxury homes, on and off the Blanco River. This Wimberley subdivision is a small, gated community with majestic views overlooking the Blanco River and surrounding Texas hill country. There is room to walk and greet the neighbors on its walking paths and streets. There is a Blanco River Park for residences that are not on the Blanco River.
South River subdivision lots size range from 1-5 acres. Homebuyers are attracted to South River because of it's Blanco River views, small neighborhood setting and it's close proximity to Wimberley.

South River Real Estate
With only one home sold in 2022 and no homes sold in 2023, I will refrain from any posting of prices or comments on trends. Needless to say, South River is a very desirable, gated community and when homes come on the market, they sell.
Home sales for the South River subdivision during 2021 numbered only three of which one was a Blanco River home. The median home price is significantly higher than in 2020 and the median days on the market is way below a year ago.
South River is a very small subdivision with Blanco River Home sales on one side and off-river home sales on the other. Whitewater (the other street in the South River subdivision had no homes come on the market in 2021. Residential sales are few and far between with a strong base of longtime residents staying put in South River. There have been many custom-built homes in South River over recent years that have just begun to come on the resale market.
2020 saw the sale of five homes in the Southriver subdivision which is much more than the norm. Prices as with most of the higher-end homes in Wimberley rose significantly with the price per square foot going to $256.94 which is up significantly from the average of $208.12 in 2018-2019.
There were only three home sales for the years 2018-2019 with the average price at $695,833 with an average size of 3,417 sq. ft. It is important to note that none of these sold homes are on the riverside of South River when the last home sale was for well over a million some seven years ago.
