Wimberley View property
Real estate in Wimberley with views
Within the Wimberley Valley are some of the finest long-distance views to be found in Texas. Elevations reach as high as 1400'-1600' and from these hilltops, one can see 20-30 miles. From one such place, west of Wimberley, the water towers of Dripping Springs, Wimberley and the Devil's Backbone can all be seen in the distance. View properties are in high demand and will be priced accordingly based on the quality of the view.
I am updating this page in the summer of 2025 and I must say that long distance view property has become hard to find and very rare in Wimberley, not because it is not there, but simply because it is not making it to market as MLS listed. . My thought is that they are being held and not flipped or sold by owner or agent to a client prior to listing. I am counting three properties over the last two years that I would consider long-distance views. Two were right at the 2-acre range and averaged $150,000- $170,000 per acre. The third was six acres and averaged close to $80,000 per acre. There are only two properties currently on the market, as of this writing, that meet this criteria. One is in Moonridge subdivision and listed at right at $100,000 acre for 6 acres and the other is in Paradise Hills and is 2.7 acres at around $80,000 per acre. Both of these properties have limited building area.
Land prices in Wimberley are going down, as of this writing with volume much lower. To learn more, click on the link above.
High-end view properties which brought $18,000 - $20,000 per acre for 2-10 acre tracts just five to ten years ago will now bring $30,000 $50,000 per acre. Single lots of less than an acre have commanded $100,000+. True value can be found in looking for view tracts further from town, or that need clearing to set the view free or are canyon views instead of long-distance. Lower level views in good locations can also offer great value. Subdivisions within the Wimberley area that offer great view properties include River Mountain Ranch, Paradise Hills, and Skyline Ranch.
