Wimberley and the Wimberley Valley have some of the finest long-distance views to be found in Texas. Hilltop elevations reach as high as 1400'-1600' and from these peaks, one can see 20-30 miles. From one such place, west of Wimberley, the water towers of Dripping Springs, Wimberley and the Devil's Backbone can all be seen in the distance.

Where has the view property gone in the summer of 2025?
So hard to find and so little available over the last couple of years.
I can legitimately count three long-distance view properties that have sold in the last two years. Two were both around 2 acres and sold for an average of $160,000 per acre. The other was a larger parcel (six acres) and brought right at $80,000 per acre. Currently, as of the summer of 2025, I am seeing two long-distance view properties that are available. One is in Moonridge subdivision and priced at $107,500/acre for 6 acres. The other is in Paradise Hills and is priced at $77,800/acre for 2.75 acres.
In my opinion, view property is being held and not flipped, sold by owner to neighbor or realtor to client before hitting the MLS.

View properties are in high demand and will price out according to the quality of the view. High-end view properties which brought $25,000 - $35,000 per acre for 2-8 acre tracts just five to ten years ago will now bring $50,000-$60,000 + per acre in 2019. Single lots of 1-2 acres have commanded $150,000+in the past but are now practically non-existent and rarely come to market.

True value can be found in looking for view tracts further from town, or that need clearing or are canyon views instead of long-distance. Lower level views in good locations can also offer great value. Subdivisions within the Wimberley area that offer great view properties include River Mountain Ranch, Paradise Hills, and Skyline Ranch Estates.
